30 Jan Reimagining ACAD’s Catalyst Magazine
The challenge
ACAD recently redesigned Catalyst with the goal of engaging a broader audience and publishing more frequently.
With a tight print deadline looming and submissions written by a variety of sources, they needed help writing key articles and ensuring the publication spoke with a single, on-brand voice.
The Writing Department solution
With no time to waste, we brought in an experienced team of two professional journalists, a seasoned magazine editor, and an eagle-eyed proofreader. Together, we wrote feature articles, edited submissions from various ACAD contributors, and combed through the proofs to make sure the magazine went off to the printers in tip top shape.
Since this was a new publication, we also created notes for fine-tuning the process for next issue – we’re diligent like that! The result The new Catalyst arrived on time and in stunning form. Just in time for ACAD’s fall Show + Sale event, the magazine made a big impression on guests before heading out into the community.

“Working with the Writing Department was a publisher’s dream. They were professional, on point and pushed us when we needed it. Not afraid to take on a messy project and deliver results, I can’t wait to work with them again.” – JoAnn Reynolds, ACAD External Communications
